What do I get for $9?
One artwork, prepared four ways. A single $9 purchase is a digital download containing four print-ready versions of the same masterpiece: a full-bleed print with no border, a version with a printed beige border, a version with a museum-style caption, and a matched story print. Each version comes at every standard frame ratio, so whatever frame you own, a file fits it. Nothing is shipped — you download the files and print them yourself.
What are the four versions?
Four ways to hang the same painting, so you can match the room and the frame you already have:
- No border, full-bleed. The artwork edge to edge, filling the whole sheet.
- Beige border. The same image set inside a printed beige border, for a quieter, framed-on-the-page look.
- Museum caption. A bordered version with a printed caption — title, artist, date — the way a gallery labels a work on the wall.
- Story print. A matched companion piece that sets out the artwork's true history as a framable print of its own. Hang it beside the painting and the pair reads like a small exhibition.
What is the story print?
It is the fourth version, and the one people do not expect. Rather than another crop of the image, it is a designed page that tells the real history of the work — where it came from, what it meant, why it endured — typeset to be framed and hung. It turns a print on the wall into something with a caption worth reading, and it is included in every $9 purchase at no extra cost.
What formats and sizes do the files come in?
All files are high-resolution JPEG, 300 DPI, in the sRGB color space — the settings home printers and print labs expect. Every version is supplied at each standard frame ratio, and the full image is preserved at every ratio. Nothing is cropped to fit. You choose the ratio that matches your frame and print at the size you want, from a small desk print up to a large wall piece.
How do I receive my download?
Instantly. The moment your payment clears at checkout, your files are ready to download, and a receipt with your download link is emailed to you. There is no waiting and nothing to ship. Payment and delivery are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, which also takes care of any sales tax or VAT.
Can I download my files again later?
Yes. Keep the receipt email — it holds your download link, so you can come back and fetch the files again. If you ever lose the email or the link will not open, write to us at hello@lestampe.studio with your order details and we will get your download back to you.
Do you ship a physical print?
No. Le Stampe is digital only. We never post anything. You receive the print-ready files and produce the print yourself — at home on your own printer, or by sending the file to any print shop or photo lab. That is what keeps a masterpiece at $9 instead of the price of a framed poster.
Can I print it more than once?
Yes — as many times as you like, for as long as you like. Print one copy or a dozen, reprint when a frame changes or a print fades, make a set for different rooms. There is no limit and no expiry, as long as the prints are for your own personal use.
What does the license allow, in brief?
You buy a personal-use license. That means you may print the files for yourself and your home, and give a print as a gift. It does not allow reselling the files, sharing or redistributing them, or using them commercially. The artwork itself is public domain; what you are licensed to use is our restored, print-ready preparation of it. The full terms are on the license page.
Is this legal?
Yes. Every artwork we offer is an old master, long out of copyright and in the public domain. We work from high-resolution scans, restore them, and prepare the print-ready files. You are free to print these works for your own walls, and we are free to share them — that is the whole point of the public domain.
What is your refund policy?
Because each order is a digital file delivered instantly, a purchase is final once it has been downloaded. That said, if a file is wrong, will not open, or is not what was described, email hello@lestampe.studio and we will put it right. The full policy is on the refund page.
Can I request a particular work?
Please do. We are a small studio and the archive grows by request as much as by whim. If there is a public-domain masterpiece you would love to print and do not see, tell us at hello@lestampe.studio. We read every suggestion, and many of them end up on the site.
How do I get it printed?
Three easy ways: at home on any printer, at a local print shop, or — for a gallery-quality framed print delivered to your door — online. See our printing guide for the details and which file to use.
